Tightening the vaginal walls and repairing the muscles at the base of the vagina

Stretching of the Vaginal canal and birth trauma with improper surgical healing, can cause laxity of the posterior vaginal wall. This can lead to a bulging of part of the rectum going into the vagina (called a rectocele) which can cause problems with the quality of passage of faecal matter, such as delay and excess straining. Equally, trauma in birth may cause a decrease in the length of the perineum (the space between the vagina and rectum). This can result in and may contribute to, increased vaginal infection (Vaginitis). Operative repair can reduce bulges in the vagina, increase the firmness of a woman's perineal region and improve the friction during intercourse. There are no randomly constructed studies that show that narrowing the vaginal cavity increases a woman's chance of having an orgasm or improves her sex life, but patients do report, post procedure, an increased satisfaction with the "feeling" of intercourse.

 

The Procedure

Under the combination of Intramuscular injections for pain and local anaesthetic you will feel no distress. The skilled surgeon repairs the excess tissue between your vagina and rectum using the fine accuracy of the Ellman Radiofrequency Device that is far more accurate and less damaging to the surrounding tissue than conventional surgical apparatus or even laser. The excess vaginal skin is then carefully resected and protrusion of the rectum into the vagina is repaired and the muscle base reconstructed. From here, the aesthetics of the procedure are paramount and the appearance of the vagina is fastidiously reconstructed using the "Alinsod Technique" and the end result is a smooth aesthetically shaped functional vagina.
